    August 8 - September 23, 2013 | Dharma Art; Solo exhibition of Calligraphy by Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar at the Tibet House Gallery in New York City.

    Since opening in 1998, the Tibet House Gallery has featured exhibitions of classical and contemporary Tibetan art, as well as modern and contemporary art inspired by Tibetan culture. Exhibitions have included artworks from private collections and museums, as well as selections from Tibet House’s own Repatriation Collection.

    The 2,000 square foot Gallery is open to the public and includes a traditional Tibetan shrine room, which is available to visitors for quiet contemplation and meditation.

    The Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art was established in 1945 to foster an interest in Tibetan and Himalayan art. The Museum sits atop Lighthouse Hill, one of the highest points on the Eastern Seaboard. It is a place where one can view Tibetan art in a contextual setting.

    The Conservancy for Tibetan Arts & Culture will be honoring Mr. Jamyang Dorjee Chakrishar for producing the longest calligraphy scroll in the world. The Scroll is 163.2 meters long and contains prayers for the wellbeing of His Holiness the fourteenth Dalai Lama by 32 eminent spiritual masters of Tibet.

    CTAC Chairman Lodi Gyari and President Greg Kruglak presented the certificate at an event in the conference room of the International Campaign for Tibet in the presence of a select group of invitees.
